I can see your point Bruce, but I think a wood handle does look pretty good on platinum, when done right, as done here by @Roy-ParallaxI would not go with wood for the handle. It would be like turning a Delorian into a Woodie.
A stainless handle would probably work because stainless steel conducts heat much more slowly than aluminum, or even ordinary steel. The aluminum handle might get hot since it can conduct heat
Looks like a nice one. Do you have the left hand shelf?
not happeningOr even a nice grill out light handle?
Yah, just like cutting a piece of wood to replace the handle would work, you could make one out of SS. But it would be awfully heavy and I think look a bit strange unless it had the slots machined in it similar to a gray Genesis 1000 handle.Mark,
I wonder if a stainless-steel 1x2 cut to fit would work as a handle?
I wonder if the handle on the platinum lid would fit?Maybe use the two brackets on the light and then find a SS pipe the same diameter of the handle light to replace it.
No, I have tried it. The Handle on the OEM Genesis Platinum lid is too short and it has rubber ends. You would need to mod it with a SS pipe as Bruce mentioned. A mod I have been also meaning to attempt.I wonder if the handle on the platinum lid would fit?
