Weber Genesis Platinum, I bought in Wausau,Wisconsin. Will be drastically modified.

Looks like a nice one. Do you have the left hand shelf?

Yeah, I do, I left it in the truck cab, so it wouldn't fly off on the drive home. I definitely won't be doing the same as Mark, I'm just going to clean up and keep it stock, but came across his thread while getting ready to start my own. Certainly not trying to hijack his post. Just thought it was one heck of a coincidence!

I put one of those Grill out Handle Lights on my SS Platinum. It was OK, but they are not real durable and even with LEDs, I don' think the light is all that good.1729782826041.png

Mark,
I wonder if a stainless-steel 1x2 cut to fit would work as a handle?
Yah, just like cutting a piece of wood to replace the handle would work, you could make one out of SS. But it would be awfully heavy and I think look a bit strange unless it had the slots machined in it similar to a gray Genesis 1000 handle.

Pretty sure the ones with metal handles do not have a direct source of heat conduction. Likely there is some kind of insulation or gap to prevent direct metal to metal contact and heat transfer

The regular SS handles on the SS Platinum lids DO have plastic bushings at the ends of the round handle that fit into the end caps.
