This is easily the coolest Weber Has grill I’ve picked up. Been in one family since new and was taken care of well. Even the casters work! First serving tray I’ve seen as well.

That is a great find. Even comes with that original manual in the binder. Very nice. That would be a great grill to rehab and keep.

I’m thinking this one is staying with me. It’s really in fantastic shape. No rust, SS flavorizer bars and the original smoker with water pan. Really cool.

thats awesome man, how hard you going to go on the rehab?
Not sure yet. Probably just a good scrub for now. It’s in really good shape. If I’m going to keep there’s really no sense in sandblasting the firebox and shades like I usually do.

Wow! I really like that one. The pinstriping makes the black hood special, and it looks like you got one of those very rare removable porcelain trays Weber offered on that grill. And the Weber smoker, too. Despite its drawbacks, it is cool to have a Weber original. My suggestion is that you use foil wrapped chips in it. You can swap them out without messing with your grates.

I would keep that grill, too! And I totally agree with a nice cleanup - good enough for a few legacy pictures - and then let it do what it is meant for!

Great score:coolkettle:!

EDIT: Looking again I see that it is maroon with a matching maroon tray - even BETTER!

That's a great find, I am always on the look out for a G4000 or 5000. That should be a keeper.

That is a fantastic find! Good for you. Send more pictures after cleaning it up some. Love the color and pinstripes. Didn’t know Weber made a serving tray on some models.

Some Genesis 4xxxs (and, I assume, the G5xxxs) that have a RH table came with 2 trays. They make a great place to put your hot and greasy spatulas and tongs on while cooking, and you can bring the trays inside to clean them afterwards. There are short extensions on the backside of the metal brackets that fit between the slats and keep them from sliding around.
