Does anyone else notice Rob's OTG looks much bigger than his red OT? I thought it was a 26er. The black one doesn't look closer than the red one.

Yeah...that black one does look bigger, even the ash catcher assembly looks big. Any insight on this pic Rob? Is that a 26" er?

Yea too be honest I never noticed but they both are 22.5's. The only difference is the black is a 2010 and the red is a '73

Here is a front view and they do look to be slightly different

Thanks Rob and Robert, I agree that I think it's an optical illusion or the photography. Rob does the red lid fit on the black bottom?

great question Shaun...by taking a measurement of the photo as they are side by side, it looks like it would be impossible for the red lid to fit over the black bowl.

My current Weber Family,
In the process I have owned an '07 performer and green OTG but have sold them.

I am pretty happy with my current setup.

J,
I see the wisdom in your collection. I have been thinking really hard about selling my Performer ever since I make my mini-wsm. The Performer is the perfect grill IF its your only grill, but I find that most of my cooks fit on my SJG and the ones that don't fit on the SJ fit better on the 27 than the 22.

The main reason I have not pulled the trigger is I really like using my rotisseries and they only fit on a 22.5. I wish they would come out with a rotisserie ring for the 27.

I also think as rarely as I use my gas grill, it would make more sense to get a Q and sell my Genesis, but I decided to hold onto if for no other reason than because the side burner makes and awesome charcoal chimney starter.

Justin,

Thanks, I have to say, it was tough for me to come to the decision to sell the performer. The fact that the OTG will cook the same way as the performer helped my decision. The mini was a game changer for me as well. I love that little thing. I really am content with all of the options that I have with a gasser, kettle, q and mini. It took me a while to get there (I drove my patient wife half crazy getting there).
