Weber earnings fall short

Barons has an article informing that Webers shares dropped as their CEO is leaving and their earnings fell short by $3 million. It had a pay wall so I didn't link it.

Interesting. Regardless of cost increases, inflation, etc I think they have overshot the prices they expect consumers to pay. $1000 starting for a no frills 3 burner genesis is just too much.

I had heard about this. I think Weber is trying to bridge the gap between the Spirit line and the Summit line with the Genesis. I think Weber should lose the Spirit line and get rid of all the bling on the Genesis and go back to making quality grilling machines with their base grill offering (Genesis) and bring the price tag back in line with the average consumer.

Hashed through this week on the forum here.

Moving to Just Conversation.

And another thread on the topic:

I would argue that $400 for an 18 inch WSM is way too much too. in fact I think it crossed the line at $250. It's just a couple of pieces of porcelain coated steel and some chromed wire racks. and that's me, I have one . What do the people that see it next to a electric Masterbuilt that's $300 think

I'm eyeing one on Marketplace right now listed at $150, gonna let it sit for a week, then offer under $100 and the goal is to settle no more than $100.

The Spirit E-210 is $570. The Spirit II E-210 is $500.
Why two models for the same target market?
Both are way too expensive for entry level gas grills.
