Weber 1000/2000 refurb.

Some more photo's of the parts and pieces The first photo is obviously of the control panel. The second one is a little more close up showing the two positions for the hanging basket on teh side of the lid I am going to use (its from the 1000). The last two are of the original box and lid form this 2000.

Here is the other one! Is basically good! Needs new igniter and flavorizer bars. Could use new casters as one wheel as a flat spot.
The green one is a E320 2007 to 2010 . My Mom has the exact grill in copper color.

The E320 is a solid grill. A worry area is the inside cabinet due to rust and the lower door hinge mounts. If there's any surface rust, I would attend to it ASAP. Rustoluem Massey-Ferguson grey is a good matching color for the cabinet.

The igniter may need a new battery and/or it may need the contacts cleaned, or it may need to be replaced. I put a non-weber branded version in my Mom's a couple years ago.

It's hard to see in your picture, but I would assume that the handle slots on the sides of your end caps are open. On the newer grills they are closed.

Do you have any interest in selling the old end caps? If so, could you PM me?

I'm curious about the bracket for holding the end of the swing up shelf on your grill. My dad's from 1987 (Serial # 40xxx) had a hole like this:

The older design had a slot and different pivot rod, like this:

I had to try it out, so I cooked on it the other night! :) Works great! I ordered for $10 a bag of the end plugs on Amazon, they fit perfect! So I have some extra if anyone needs any! :)

You have a lifetime supply of those now! Weber used to give you two extra of those with their grills which came in handy when I restored my 98 genesis. I was missing one and remembered that I had extra ones someplace. I was able to find one of them in a coffee can full of other junk that I had saved. Otherwise I would also have a bag of extra ones.

Yes I knew i did not really need this many but the price was right. I could also pass on the savings to my fellow weber heads when possible.

Trust me, I will try to remember that you have extra ones. You can still buy the original Weber ones, but of course they are now ridiculously expensive. Screenshot_20221021-010201_Chrome.jpg

This just in! From Canada EH! :) When I ordered these from Chuck I did not even realize he was in the Great white North! :) No worries though these appear to be great quality and I look forward to installing them! I guess I need to order another set for my SSP! Fun stuff!

Those look just like the stock ones, nice! How economical are they compared to buying new wheels at around $30 a piece?

The ones I purchased will not fit my Genesis, I discovered, I have some older wheels, in conversation with Chuck, he tells me these are rare, but that he also makes rings for those. Its all good I put these ones on my performer! They snapped right on! I love new parts!!!! 3299808E-42E0-4B02-9AFC-0E4B4C081DBD.jpegBD3B1763-1FEA-4ECF-B2CF-21C1EFD9522C.jpegB5A05BE1-615A-4D7E-A153-066209A1DDB6.jpeg

Oh yeah, your grill is actually a genesis 2. The whitewall portion of those wheels is a larger diameter I think. It's good that you can get the right ones though.
