I think the bulbs might be tough to find, but I don't think the often go bad either.

I have seen several of them for sale on the sale sites and never once do I remember someone saying it needed new bulbs. And yours looks to be NIB.

Likely the same one, trouble is, it dont light up so although in decent condition it does not function. Bulb looks ok and not burnt out so maybe another issue. Shame as been after one for a while.

No markings on bulb, google search does not provide much comfort.

I assume you checked the bottom of the box for an owners manual or other paperwork that might list the bulb model/specs.

I did check the box. If i knew i could get bulbs i would probably keep it and figure it out but will now return to seller. I will keep looking, thanks

Out of curiousity, do the 2 grids energize, ie will they zap bugs ?

I think the bulb is the attractant, the grids are the electrocution apparatus. I may be wrong.

You are correct. But if the grids don't electrify, the bulb may not be the problem...
