I wanted to take advantage of a nice break in the winter so far - clear skies, temps in the 20s, and no snow for a week or so. So I thought I'd smoke a couple of pork shoulders. Each around 7.25 lbs. Smoked with some apple wood chunks, in the 'smoke zone' for 11 hours total time.

It was a very simple 'cook', but it turned out good.
And just in time - another 6" of snow due today. But spring is coming!

Nice cook! Good thing you got it in while you could. I like the look on your dogs face, you must not have shared the pulled pork!

Thanks, Nick - yeah, Woody did not get any pork, and I got the stink-eye from him!
I don't post a lot of cooks - the photos came out too large and the Photobucket captions did not come along. I guess I'm supposed to reduce the size before posting.

Does anyone know the optimal size of photos?

Pete, I did the same thing yesterday and about the same size came out great, just like yours. Only difference is here it was 70+ and clear, but I lived in the Chicago area for many years (Franklin Park) so I know how bad you want spring to come.

Great looking cook. You know those splits in the fat mean something good is about to happen in your mouth and belly.

Don't lift the lid...

Great cook. Nice looking color on those roasts. Let me see, 14 1/2 lbs. of meat and 4 ABT's. I was wondering what you were going to do with all the left over meat. Then I saw your doggie picture. Looks like he's giving you an ultimatum!!

Excellent cook! I like the redhead in the background. Also looks like a Weber fireplace that was discontinued... but I'm not sure about the legs.

Great looking cook. It takes a while of screwing around with the pics to figure out how to best set them up for posting. I haven't done any in quite a while so I'm sure I'll struggle with it again when I post next. Good luck and thank you!!
