Yah, I don't think he sourced a bunch of titanium at retail cost to make the grates. I imagine that he had access to a supply for some reason and decide, "Heck, why not".

Personally... I don't think there's much question about that. The workmanship on the grate is awfully nice, I have a feeling that he's a commercial/industrial fabricator.
