Had something similar for sliders. Worked ok I guess, but I found it just as easy (actually easier) to just put the sliders right on the grates. When I make meatballs on the grill, I put them on foil, on a metal rack in an aluminum or stainless pan, works very well, and one less gadget to clean.

Reminds me of the two or three reusable tea ball strainers my wife has floating around in the drawers. We never use those either.

the one in the initial post might get pretty funky, I like the smaller hole size but, that is where the “funkiness” might be hardest to clean, a toothpick would take forever but, might the only way to get them clear.
