Want to buy new old stock Genesis 1 burner tubes.

Let me know if you have a 3 burner set, the middle burner must have 1 set of holes running down each side of the tube.

Mark,
I think that finding an unused set of burners from almost 40 years old is going to be close to impossible. Realistically, you probably need to consider doing a thorough reconditioning of a used set of these early Genesis burners. I know on mine that I posted that they still had a gray tint, but with some cleaners and more time spent, they could probably have been made to look practically new. If you are open to that, possibly some here could sell you a restorable set.

I like this idea, Jon.
Can a old burner tube be buffed good and look like new again ?
I wouldn't have the ability to accomplish the new look but I'm sure there are professionals that can.

I question the need to even worry about these long gone tubes in the first place, particularly on a grill that @MarkCuda isn’t going to actually use when done. Yes, the center tube has holes on either side. I know that. But what is the real gain from the extra holes when all is said and done? The burner tube doesn’t put out any extra Btu’s…that’s controlled by the valve. The burner itself sits directly under a flavor bar so the heat should balance and dissipate evenly almost immediately anyways. When we add in another layer of perpendicular flavor bars above that, I can’t see anything to be gained by the time the heat hits the grate. This lack of benefit only increases when so many of us are using the 16ga RCP bars on something we’re actually cooking on. Convince me I’m wrong…I’m all ears for the education.

Yup, after further thinking on this subject, I will just buy the Amazon burner tubes for 30 some bucks and call it good.
I know I was pretty much over thinking this topic.

Tom,
I think you are dead on about it not being a big deal. On my last Skyline project, I already had the tubes (much needing cleaning) and plenty of spider guards, so I thought it would be cool to use them. I tried to just make them clean and useable. They are also true 304 stainless, but there are new non-OEM ones that are as well. Other than a curiosity item, it really isn't going way overboard to find these. I think Mark is wise to move on to more important parts of his restoration.

I need to see what I have left. I am not sure I even have one more full set of the early ones that are capable of being restored. Even 304 stainless eventually goes to pot over many years of use!

All you should need is that middle one. You can mix that with any other outer burner tubes. I'm pretty sure the plastic spider guards go on the newer style tubes as well.
