Ok...so the Wife and I were enjoying a "Bloody Mary" made with V-8 "Spicy" tonight...it occurred to me that this MIGHT make an interesting "tomato" base for a Q' sauce...a quick search on "V-8" had no hits here on the Board...

Anyone have a recipe that uses V-8 juice ???

Be creative, and add the things that you like. Then send me a sample please. Good Idea!

Ingredients:
1/3 cup minced onion
2 tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons dry mustard
2 cups V8 juice
2/3 cup plain vinegar
1/4 cup molasses
1/2 teaspoon rosemary
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions:
Saute onion in butter until transparent.
Add remaining ingredients
and simmer for about 10 minutes.

I found that online and never tried it but a few times I added some Mrs T's Bloody Mary mix to doctor up some bottled BBQ sauce and it came out great.

My favorite Bloody Mary/Maria mix is Zing-Zang. Lots of Caribbean based spices. I have thought this might make a decent chicken marinade/brine.
