R Ron C. TVWBB Super Fan Apr 3, 2023 #1 Just picked up a used WSM and the seller had the water bowl filled with ash that was a solid block. What is the best way to remove it? I've tried blasting with a garden hose which helped a little and am soaking it now. It's pretty much full of ash.

timothy TVWBB 1-Star Olympian Apr 3, 2023 #2 You sure it's ash not sand? Some people use sand as a heat sink instead of water. If that gets saturated with grease it's like concrete.
