Used Smokefire EX-6 for cheap. Risk it assuming I should replace some parts?

There's a cheap ($350) EX6 for sale locally. I've been contemplating a Searwood (I don't need the sear aspect) but for $350 (probably less. The owner wants it gone), I'm considering it. Already have a WSM 22, two kettles and a PBC. This isn't a need for the EX6 - more of a curiosity at a somewhat cheap entry price.

I'm completely willing to proactively replace parts just in case and recognize the pellet bridging problem and need for specific pellets so they don't jam. Other than replacing the glow plug, (I'm assuming the racks on it are OK), is there anything else I should consider?

Or just walk away and don't risk it at all?

How old and is it a 1st or 2nd gen?
No idea. Seller stated it was purchased 'a few years back' and "It works well but occasionally has a false start and the burn system just needs to be cleaned out before restarting" so I'm going to assume 1st gen.

Mines a few years back ( 2023) and it's a gen 2 AFAIK because it has the newer pellet slide.
Works great with no problems.
I have no problems using different pellets with jamming but you do need to keep a eye on pellet bridging.

Did the current owner register it? If not, you should be able to register it and get warranty support.
Unsure. I haven't reached out to the seller yet as I'm trying to determine if it's even worth taking on. If the consensus is 'walk away' then I will but if the purchasable parts allow me to end up with a 36" for say, $450 or so and it now works well, then I'll reach out. With Weber raising the Searwood's price and Camp Chef going out of their mind with their price increase, trying to decide if this one used one is worth the risk.

Well Steve, Weber also has the Smoque and everything I'm seeing on this product points to a really good product, and there are other brands beside Weber and Camp Chef. There is Traeger, Z Grills, and so on. All of whom build a reasonably good to great product. Though my main issue with Z Grills is not the grills since they build a quality grill, even doing the OEMs for companies like Green Mountain and some Traegers amongst others. They issue is lack of customer support and really pi$$ poor software. But the grills are rock solid and reasonable

Its absolutely worth it. I've had mine for 18 months and I love it. The grill racks are stainless steel, all the flavoriser bars are stainless except the middle large one for some reason. When I got mine (2nd hand) it was because the seller had just hot a brand new one from weber on warranty as he said it kept going out. I took a chance, and what I found wrong was the Auger had compacted wood dust on it for about the first third of it!! I cleaned it all up and it ran perfectly. It's a 2nd gen with the new slide. The only thing I had to replace was the flavoriser bar rails. They were rotted. I called Weber to order some and they were back and forth for over 2 weeks and I eventually just said can you just send them please, as I didn't know what the hold up was. The guy on the phone said I notice your grill is still in warranty so there's no charge!!! I never registered it and the lreviois owner had a whole brand new grill from them!!! So i forgot to mention that to them.
I use it almost every week and it had a flame out once which was resolved by running the shutdown routine and restarting. Never an issue since. It's a well built grill and mine is still on the original glow plug. Gor for it, you won't get the chance to get a quality pellet grill for that price often. You'll love it. I use o lu Weber pellets vut know someone who uses Traeger pellets with no problem. Send pics of your first cook!
