Undecided EX4.....

So I just started smoking in April using a Masterbuilt 30 digital smoker. I've been loving it and so are the kids, but an looking at the EX4 I want to get more into Smoking ribs, roasts, briskets. We grill alot on my S670, so I really am looking at the EX4 for smoking. Looking over these posts I'm really undecided !!! With the sale going on now I'm really tempted, but if it doesn't work out how the hell do you return it to Weber ??? Am I better off buying it at my local Ace or I have lots of Amazon points that will save me a few bucks ???? Help

People I know who returned theirs contacted Weber and Weber arranged for a shipper to pick it up and return it to Weber.

I agree with Lew; my first EX6 was bought from weber.com earlier this year and they contracted a shipping company who reached-out to me to arrange for the pick-up. I did not have any issues with the return process.

I bought another one last month but this time ordered it from Amazon, for no particular reason. Thus far, I'm very well-pleased with it and I'm glad I decided to try it again... so far.

Ordered mine (EX6) from Weber, and it took two weeks to get to me. I was wishing that I had just ordered it through Amazon, but I wanted to make sure that I got an actual Gen 2 model, not something that had been sitting in a warehouse for the last 6 months, and figured that it would be easier to return directly to Weber.
Very happy with mine.

Thanks Lew. Overall are you happy with yours ?
I'm almost 80 and I needed to replace my stable with something that would cook low and slow but also hot and fast. I've had mine since July 3rd. 2020 and it goes in my will. It gives great flavor to the meat and is very flexible. It can also be as irritating as my kids in their teens. Assemble it correctly, operate it correctly, learn it's traits and you can handle what the immature software throws at you. I think Recteq, Camp Chef, and Smokin Brothers make excellent smokers but they don't have the capability of a Smokefire.

I'm going to order it from Amazon tomorrow. Should be able to get it by Friday/ Sat / Sun. I love Weber. Have a Silver C , S670, "Q2000" for family trips...
Do I need to save the box and packing material ? I'm buying it to keep but if I need to fall back in the return policy??

Thanks

I did not need the box nor packing material; they wheeled the unit to their liftgate and secured it with straps in the truck.

Was passing an Ace Hardware today on the way to meet a client. Went in and low and behold they had an orphan Ex4 on display, surrounded by 5 Traegers. I liked the EX4 styling and I love Weber in general, but it did seem kinda small. How much bigger is an EX6 ? I already have a S670 monster on my back patio and my wife doesn't want my backyard to look like I'm a pit master , LOL. How big is the EX6 compared to the S670 ????
Thanks

The EX6 is smaller but with more cooking grate space.

So I ordered an EX6, hopefully coming by Friday......
Congrats. Now, get the BILT app and follow it for assembly. It will save you time. Also, here's a link to a Smokefire owners group member generated FAQ. It's full of tips, tricks, and lessons learned. If you can browse through it before yours arrives I think you'll find it useful https://bit.ly/3jqWlJw For example there's a link in there for spare fuses. I have them and I've never needed one but it's cheap insurance. Have fun.

Hey Tim,
I was the guy that bought that pellet grill in Philly. I was going to flip it but decided to try it out, I'm keeping it for sure after only half a dozen cooks, didn't know anything about them until I got it.

Congrats on the grill. I've had mine for a month or so, really like it. One suggestion: Don't put your grill in shutdown until you're absolutely positive you don't need it anymore. It takes a long time to shut down and more than once I wish I hadn't. Shut down takes a minimum of 15 minutes, often longer. To decrease the shut down (if need be) open the lid, it knocks about 5 minutes off the shutdown
