Turkey Meatloaf

Did a turkey meatloaf on the WSM. No water in the pan, kept it between 350 and 375 with about a chimney and a half of charcoal. Also put some potatoes in a skillet with some EVOO and in the other is corn cut off the cob with red bell pepper and onion with EVOO. Both have some Mexican seasoning on them. Meatloaf has ground turkey, onion, green beans, carrots, oats and an egg. Seasoned with McCormick garlic and herb Grill Mates.

Here it is after about 45 minutes at 165 degrees. I sauced it with Sweet Baby Ray's when it hit about 150.

Skillets needed a little more heat (the meatloaf cooked faster than I thought) so I put them on direct. No shot but I added some Newman's Own Salsa Con Queso to the potatoes when they were done.

Here it is all plated up with some pasta with margarine and lemon pepper seasoning.

Thanks for looking!

Great looking meatloaf!! How was it and did it hold together fine with the oats and egg?

Thanks! Tasted great! I avoided using smoke wood to see how it would come out. It came out the same as when I do it in the oven. Next time will will introduce a little bit of smoke (maybe a few chips) to try and ease in some flavor without overdoing it. It holds together great with just the egg and oats. When my wife makes it she uses breadcrumbs instead of oats. It's all good!

Thanks all! My wife has class tonight so Addie and I are eating meatloaf sandwiches and watching Phineas and Pherb. She thought it would be even better with pickles on it...she was right...

I enjoy turkey burgers, but have never tried turkey meatloaf. I'll have to put this on my ever expanding bbq bucket list.

I've also never seen meatloaf done with oats. This seems to be a healthy option, especially when using turkey.
