Tri Tip - WSM

My poor WSM has been acting more like a Santa Maria than a Smoker
The TT came out perfect, nice crust not blackened and medium (used to like it rare, but now like it medium)
The potatoes were awful, ended up giving them to the raccoons. I guess you have to microwave them first when you cook them like this?

Here they are buttered and that's pretty much the last time they looked good

I discovered what you did, unless you get the taters on way before the TT you get raw potatoes. So now I nuke em before and just finish them up on the grill.
Nice cook though.

Great looking TT Chuck. Too bad about the potatoes. They sure look good. I usually cook russets indirect for about an hour depending on the size of the potatoes. I've only done them Hasselback style a couple of times. I believe they finished up a little quicker, but not much.
