I've done roadside maybe 3 times before...Never turned out very good. Always burned and overcooked. I decided to try the recipe again and cook it like I cook other chicken pieces recipes. It was really, really good!

Ready to go on after an 8+ hour marinade.

On indirect for 30 minutes, turning and basting once.

Then on direct, basting constantly, until the skin is crisp (forgot to take a pic of this) then back on indirect if needed (and it was) until it's done.

Cooked some corn and green beans & okra on the OTG while the chicken was finishing up.

Yes, I did see the Moosehead too!
Great looking cook Don!

Lookin' very tasty! Summer Shandy is a great "lawnmower" beer for those hot days doin' lawncare and Q'n. How did it go with the RSC?

Lookin' good Don! Tell us what you did with the GB and Okra. Is that the new WS basket with the removable handle? I got my dad one for Father's Day. First time he used it, spring mechanisn in the handle blew apart.

Thanks everyone!

I thought it went pretty well but, truth be told, it was in the upstairs fridge and the Moosehead was in the downstairs, beer fridge. I chose it out of laziness not to pair with the meal.

Just olive oil and S&P on the veggies. Then into the basket, tossing often until soft. They are really good!

It is a basket from WS but it’s not new and the handle isn’t removable. I think this one was discontinued from WS but my wife’s stepmother said she called them yesterday and they told her they had plenty of them. I bet they were talking about the one you got your dad. I’ve been very happy with mine.

Not at all, Charles! No worries!!

I've only made RSC twice - the first time I marinated for just a few hours, the 2nd time (last weekend) I marinated for 3 days with the oil in the marinade.

Longer is better imo.
