Tonight's fast cook...Pork Steaks and Tators

Hurried up and fired up the Performer (man do I love that grill) when I got home before the storms hit. Used my homemade rub on the Pork Steaks and threw in 2 small hickory chunks for smoke. Sliced the Potatoes with my Breville Food Processor and put in my CI pan with olive oil, salt n pepper. Sliced a few pieces of Onions in with the potatoes. Pork Steaks had great flavor and they were really juicy. Almost rivaled a good Beef steak IMO.

Hey Jim, I did the steaks indirect for around 1/2 hr or so and
Did one flip and then moved the charcoal baskets to the sides
and put the CI pan in the middle and steaks over direct for a few
minutes a side..I didn't use my Thermopen for IT this evening just
Eyeballed it :)

I want to know where you all are finding these pork steaks. I have yet to see any. The best I can find is pork chops.

Pork steaks and sides look really delicious Roger!
Matt - ask your butcher to cut you some from a Boston butt or shoulder or
you can buy a butt and do it yourself.

Matt I live in SW Michigan about 25 miles from Mishawaka, Ind.
I want to say I purchased them there @ SAMS Club...my memory
May be wrong though. I asked the wife and she says SAMS also in
Indiana

Promise for now on plated shots also...everyone's always in a hurry to eat :), especially me. Potatoes were a perfect brown and the steaks were excellent. Going to do that again.
