Tonight's brisket

Thought I would post some pics of tonight's brisket. We enjoyed it with some neighbors and it got rave reviews. Not sure how sincere they were, but here are the pics. You may notice I'm not as good at staging the pics as Wolgast, but you will get the idea.

The packer out of the package.

Slices of flat and burnt ends for some neighbors.

It was my first smoke in a while. It's good to be back. The meal was completed with my wife's homemade mac & cheese and strawberry spinach salad. No pictures as I was concentrating on eating.

Well, that smoke ring is outstanding!

I've noticed that we tend to be harder on ourselves than others are. I've had racks of ribs and pans of pulled pork disappear while I'll considered them 'meh, okay'.

Looks great Lew.

"Slices of flat and burnt ends for some neighbors" - If i ever move from this house i know were to now.

Nice looking brisket. Where did you get it? I'm in Marietta too. I've found that the Walmart out Dallas Hwy. usually has a good selection of brisket at a good price.

I got it at Kroger. Kroger's tend to be smaller than the Walmart briskets. Mine was 9.5 lbs.
