Tonight, Halloween.

OK. I'm old. Been around awhile.

When I was a kid we'd rake the leaves into the street, then light them up. Standard practice, and that in a primary city in New England.

So, it's Halloween. It's fall. Tonight was a warm, but crisp night. Nice night to be outside with a jacket on.

I fired up the Weber kettle with a bunch of charcoal, got it going good.

Piled on a good armful of fallen maple leaves from the street. Closed the lid, shuttered the Weber down to minimal air.

20 seconds later, it was heaven. What I remembered from 60 years ago. Smoke enhancing the neighborhood.

Not too many kids for Trick or Treating, but I had fun with them all.

Not one T or T.

The worst part, what are we going to do with all that chocolate candy. We have been trying to cut back on chocolate.

The veterans center in a town by me is collecting for the troops deployed.

I also saw this on another forum. I don't know anything more so there is the disclaimer along with YMMV.

I knew it. I have had 3 pieces of candy today. Oh did I mention, they are the "minis" size. :giggle:
