I like how you make your own rub. Average cost of rubs I see at the local Ace Hardware is $12-$15. The smoked paprika is distinctly different than plain paprika for sure.Been a couple of months since making regular ribs, usually do baby back loin ribs. I did a mustard base and seasoned with garlic, chili powder, smoked paprika and fresh ground black pepper. I'm going to smoke them at 250F until done, no wrap, no spray.

No shortage of sugar in many of them either. I actually like many of the Weber rubs. Good taste profiles and reasonably priced. And, in most of the rubs, the number one ingredient is usually salt.
Just tried the Weber Kickin Chicken on a turkey the other day. Excellent.Weber smokey brown sugar is one of my favorite dry rubs on ribs & butts.
Cool thanks for the info. This will be on my list to tryFinal temp check was 186f. Supermarket ribs on sale, impulse buy. Next time I make them it will be at 275f, it's the sweet spot on my SmokeFire. I can get similar results with the higher temp setting and as a bonus, be eating sooner.![]()
Mighty tasty looking ribs Bob!6 hour cook time, 5 at 250f, 1 at 275f. They turned out very tender, good bite, not fall off the bone. I asked my wife to rate them from 1 to 10, 10 being the best, she said they were a 100!
