ThermoWorks links no longer help support the forum

As some may know, since 2016 I have participated in the ThermoWorks affiiate program, earning a commission for every ThermoWorks product purchased using affiliate links here in the forum.

As of 9/1/2025, ThermoWorks has moved to a new affiliate platform that no longer offers a script to easily convert ThermoWorks links in forum posts to affiliate links. As a result, the forum will no longer earn any commissions from the ThermoWorks affiliate program. Just to be transparent, it's a loss of about $1,600 of revenue each year which helps defray the cost of web hosting, domain name registration, the forum software and add-on feature licensing, support services, and more. The loss of this revenue is not a life-threatening blow to the forum, but it's certainly not helpful.

So I wanted you to know that if you are clicking ThermoWorks links in old posts thinking that they help the forum, feel free to click them but know that they no longer help.

If you're an Amazon shopper, the best way to help support the forum at no additional cost is to click the Amazon shopping link at the top of every forum page before shopping at Amazon.

If you're not an Amazon shopper, you can "buy me a beer" (make a donation) by clicking the PayPal link in the banner on the forum homepage or by using Venmo to make a donation to:

Thanks,

Where’s does the Amazon link appear when viewing the site on mobile? I’d guess that mobile might be 60% of your page views? I don’t see the Amazon link on mobile thus I asked this question.

It's buried in the "hamburger" drop-down menu at the top left of every page, next to the logo.

It's also linked to the Amazon logo at the top of the homepage.

FYI, 55% desktop, 43% mobile, 2% tablet.

This! Old Guys Rule!

BTW, I don’t think Google Analytics can tell the difference between a desktop and a laptop, so they’re rolled together as desktop.
Undoubtedly, although browsers will send back operating systems as well, so it could be broken out by Windows, MacOS, Linux, , iOS, Android, etc.

I just clicked the Amazon link you mentioned and got this:

A few weeks ago, another member reported the same problem to me, he was using the Edge browser. I checked using Edge and Chrome, and the link works for me in both browsers, so my only suggestion was that he try clearing his browser cookies and cache, which I know is a big pain in the butt. Give that a try and let me know what happens.

On iPhone it called the Amazon app and immediately opened that app. But idk how cookies work when the app gets called as the referral link.

Do you have to buy bbq related items to get the Amazon credit? Or just go to Amazon from the website and buy buy buy?

Well, that’s a disappointment, to say the least.
We all need to show Chris how much we think of his efforts and send some beer tokens his way!
