Has anyone or does anyone use a master forge wireless thermometer and what do you think. any other advice on this would be great. I also found a taylor grilling probe. What do you guys know about these?

Look at the maverick ET-732 or 733 if on the market, great wireless thermometers. You can buy them from the shopping link on this forum through amazon, like $60 or so.

Yeah, the Maverick ET-732 is pretty much the gold standard.

The more I BBQ, the more I realize the importance of accurate, reliable temperature sensing. I'm about ready to pull the trigger on a Thermapen too.

The mavericks i have found have only had a port for one prob. I was under the impression that there was a port for a meat reading and one for the cooker temp/

Drew,

Tha Maverick has two probe connections; one on each side of the transmitter. One for the food and one for the grill temp.

I have a thermoworks and love it. I have 3 probes, 2 with alligator clip and one high heat probe with heavy cable. I would hate to have to cook without them.....but I also just got a thermapen and that thing is awesome. Thermoworks customer service is very good as well from what I have experienced

When I got my thermapen a few weeks ago they were having a sale on the "brown" ones so might want to check out their website

Thermapens are awesome! Got mine for Christmas last year, love it. I have a Maverick 732, so far so good it works the way it should although I suspect my meat probe is nearing replacement time. Once I got used to my kettle/WSM I mainly just use the meat probe and the lid or dome therm as I have checked them and know what they are telling me. Don't get too hung up about being exact unless you are taking internal temps.

I have it and use it.
I've had it for a few years now and it's fairly accurate.
It's good but I also use my experience to tell when BBQ is done.
