Thermometer for my rotisserie

Not that brand but I have an Inkbird INT-11P-B wireless probe, and it works great. Have used it several times with consistently good results. One thing I will caution you about is that it's normal on this type of thermometer for the ambient temperature to read low at the start and gradually rise during the cook, usually reaching very close to the actual ambient at the end.

Just checked and Amazon has the Inkbird for the same price.

When it comes to thermometers I always go with Thermoworks, their new RFX model is wireless and would work well in a rotisserie and from what I understand doesn't have the same issues most wireless probes have with connection. I just got my 2 probe starter kit today im going to test it out on my Yoder YS640 while grilling a steak, if it don't lose signal through all that steel ill be surprised!

Highly recommend you snag something with WIFI not just Bluetooth. I've been sorely disappointed in BT only devices
I'm going to look into this. I've had both models of the "Meater" (Original & Pro) and I couldn't be more disappointed in them if I stabbed them into my eye

No wifi, no BT for me, I just don’t like my phone enough to bother. I’m very glad that you guys like and use them, just not something I seem to care enough about to invest in. I have a Meater out there unused and a second one like it also unused.

Ea their own. I like to not be tied to my cooker. Especially on a longer cook, where I might need to monitor actual ambient and also the protein internal temps. So, I find the Chef IQ an answer to my prayers

To the OP, maybe a little late, but I do own that model, and it works okay. Not the most accurate temp, but functional more or less in terms of range.

I also own more than one Meater, and it has been a frustrating experience. My most recent thermometer is the Combustion Inc. model. So far so good with that one. It is a bright canary yellow color. The first time that I used it I put it into a ribeye on a gas grill and walked away. When I returned, there were flames everywhere and the little canary yellow thermometer was basically engulfed. I figured I had melted it, but I was able to restore it to a bright yellow color with just minimal scrubbing. Also it gave me a temperature throughout that cooking fiasco. So I am impressed with its durability.

I am still on the lower end of the learning curve otherwise with this one. The interface on the app is not quite as instinctive as it is with the Meater.

Not experienced with the one you bought but I've had good success with the red ThermoPro TempSpike. It is pretty accurate at measuring internal and ambient temps simultaneously. BT distance is good and GUI is simple on phone. I always verify temp of final grilled protein in a few spots with an instant read thermometer... I use an orange ThermoWorks ThermaPen Mk4. Below is the TempSpike in a turkey from this past Thanksgiving with its red base to the right.

Tip: After finishing the rotisserie, make sure you clean off the flat ambient metal end of the spike that contacts the charger. If the contact end is not cleaned to shiny metal, it might not charge the spike. Ask me how I know. I now swipe the blunt end a few times with steel wool when I clean it.

I've got 2 TempSpikes and they work fairly well, but the lack of WIFI is a deal killer for me. Their other drawback is they're huge. Which was why my TempSpikes are relegated to very light duty and ChefIQ has taken over. BT and WIFI, monitor anywhere, They're much thinner, and you can even use it while deep frying. (or any frying for that matter), making it even more handy. When done they go in the dish washer.

Your ChefIQ sounds really good. I have a TW Smoke for non-rotisserie. Great product. The WiFi RF on its remote unit is solid but no BT. Its unquestionable accurate but it has wires to deal with that are expensive to replace.

About 1 yr ago, I picked up 2 of the TempSpikes at Sam's Club when they were on clearance for $19. That price got me over my resistance to having another App on my smartphone. The BT on TempSpike has been very good and it's really nice not having to deal with wires all over the place. I believe the newer version of mine has a slightly smaller probe and I think there are versions with WiFi displays. I'll probably use the TempSpike more across regular smoking because its easier to clean and no wires to deal with.

I have a TW Smoke as well. When I saw the raves on here about how good it is, and it was on sale, I figured "why not?" Now that I own it, I know why not. It's been placed to the side and unused. The range on the wireless receiver is awful, yeah it's pretty accurate, but if it's so hard to use what good is that? If you want it to use WIFI you have to buy yet another expensive accessory. So honestly, I'm over it. If anyone wants it shoot me a reasonable offer.
As far as accuracy, while the Spike is pretty accurate: When I do a comparison to my ThermoPro Lightning next to ChefIQ they read within a tenth of ea other. It's BBQ for cryin' out loud how accurate to we really need?
I think there may be better products of it's type than ChefIQ but, when I factor in the cost vs benefit it's a top notch product.
But then I also pride myself at adapting to new and better tech even though I'm an old fart. This old fart refuses to be an old fuddy duddy :D

Well, you certainly don’t come across as a geaser. :) I’ve learned a lot from your prolific posts so keep trying grill stuff.

Yeah, I was conflating WiFi with RF. I didn’t get the extra Gateway thing. I think the Smoke is RF. The range is good enough to reach all the rooms in my house so it works for me. Kind of nice to have dedicated remote display and not need a phone. The wires not so much.

Like you, I’ll continually try out new products as they get better and cheap enough to fit this hobby. The TempSpike satisfies my BT itch for now and works well spinning in a rotisserie.

My house is like a Faraday cage so, I constantly lose communication with the TempSpike and the Thermoworks Smoke. Thankfully the WIFI transcends that issue for me as I have a mesh system. And I have one mesh access point even out in my back garage
