Real Quick... Does the new 18.5 have a temp guage? My Father-in-Law is a convert and wants a smoker for Father's Day, but I'd like to get him the 18.5.

Get him a Maverick ET-73 while you are at it

. Maybe some guru eyelets too. Rib rack or two. Charcoal chimney. Welders Gloves. Lots of heavy duty foil.

I agree with Gregg. And when you get the foil, get the really wide roll. Easier for foiling the water pan. Also maybe a Brinkmann Charcoal pan (charcoal pan...not water pan) as a substitute for the stock water pan.

I just saw this post. Too Funny! I got him the 18.5 and he loves it. Does not use it as much as I do, but I have a trial in Savannah week after next and staying with them, so I may fire it up for the.
