Hey Kids, I'm Rob. I'm a meater and I just got a new Weber.
Been living in central Florida for about 1.5 years now, and have been grilling on various heat producing appliances for about 50 years (OK, so that timer actually started when dad let me fan the charcoal with a dust pan or frisbee to get them to grey up some...)
Just got my newest Weber when we had gas installed in the house, and they offered a quick connect for a natural gas grill.

Hoping to pick up some tips and tricks here!

Welcome Rob, don't forget there is a humor section in Just Conversation, scroll down and enjoy the silly fun.

Welcome Rob. Great crew here. Some of us ain't any better looking than that old tub, but we do know how to cook up some great tasting proteins.

Hi Rob, WELCOME from a fella Floridian. You will love it here. What do you like to cook?

Welcome Rob! Have you ever driven on the beach over in New Smyrna Beach?
Hey Bob!
Been to New Smyrtle a bunch of times, but I don't drive on the beach. I spent months trying to find a nice little truck (Chevy S-10) that wasn't full of rust - so I don't want to screw that up :)
I'm about 45 minutes from there, so that's my favorite beach!

Hi Joan!
Loving FLA so far! (But then, I haven't been chased by an alligator yet)
As far as cooking goes, I'm a man of simple tastes (Many say that I'm just "simple", period)
But my favorite grilling thing is probably a combo of corn on the cob and filet mignon. But, since I can't afford that every night, I'm a burger nut - followed by pork tenderloin, and finally - chicken.

Love your sense of humor. :giggle:

You will probably find out that I am a recipe nut myself. If you like to use recipes, I will gladly keep you busy. lol Just let me know.
And watch out for those 'gators, but if you catch any, I have recipes for cooking them also. lol

Welcome, Rob. With a good grill and some time plus a little encouragement I wouldn't be surprised if your grilling horizons don't expand -- possibly a lot! If it can be cooked, it can be grilled and probably better. Look around, find some topics that interest you and also watch the Photo Gallery. That's where you can find lots of great cooks, challenges and encouragement. Just remember -- not everything that's grilled may be perfect, but almost all is perfectly edible.

Thanks Rich,

I like your way of thinking. A million years ago, I was thrown a small bachelor party, and at the end of the night there were just three of us left, drinking strawberry daiquiris.

Well, we ran out of strawberries, but still had plenty of rum, so we tried grape daiquiris. Not the worst thing (like some of the stuff I cook on the grill), but we were already pretty polluted. And the night was young.

Then we ran out of grapes and still had rum, so we went diggin in the fridge for more fruit. Tomatoes. Tomatoes is what we found.

So, into the blender went the tomatoes and the rum. And out came a concoction that only a completely inebriated 22 year old would drink on a dare. I believe I remember the phrase "That's not as bad as I thought it'd be" stated a time or two. (Might be a good sign to hang above my grill station!)

So I've obviously mastered the blender arts. Hopefully it won't take me 40 more years to master the grill!
