The feeding of the 50

Our office had our annual United Way work day on Friday and I was asked to cook. We had 30 volunteer workers and 20 workers from the day care center. Man, oh man, can those people eat !

I cooked two 8# briskets (my 2nd high temp cook and a roaring success) using the wet rub, four 7# shoulders, 30 boneless chicken thighs, 2 gallons of baked beans, 6#s of slaw, and two dutch oven cobblers (2 gallons of peaches, 1 gallon of apples).

I ran two WSM's (the high temp brisket, and the old faithful low and slow for the shoulders - they went 16 hours at 225-250 and didn't have to touch it).

Everyone raved about the food, but it's hard to take compliments when this cooker makes it so easy. It was a great day, a great meal, and great people doing work for a very worthy cause.
