The door fell off and temps spiked!

I was doing 2 butts today, and a few hrs into the cook, the WSM door fell off while I was in the house and the temps went up to 400* for about 20 min.
I hope they still turn out ok...
 
they'll be fine. even though i have my knob marked i still give the handle a tug when i put the door on to make sure it caught. it's a good habit to get into

I think I'l mark my door knob, maybe it will help.

I don't now if it's me or what but it seams to be pretty tricky making sure the door is "latched".

Although I did the "Door Mod" from the forum, inverted door with the screws, so my door won't actually fall out but it could open a few threads, still enough to increase the temps.
 
Good advise, Tony. This is the only way I learn - the hard way.
The temps are actually pretty slow coming down. The door off got the pile of lump blazing in there.
Could be almost an hour over 300*...
