Black Box BBQ is an new food truck run by pitmaster John Muller. Muller is part of the extended Muller BBQ family, learning his tricks in Taylor and then applying them to several spots in Austin. Muller is a better pitmaster than businessman, so this time someone else is managing and bankrolling the enterprise. I've tried the brisket, pork ribs and sausage. The meat is amazing. The sauce, less so. But one of the hallmarks of good Texas BBQ is that it needs no sauce.
Black Box is open Th-Su, 10:30 until sold out, which happens about 2 or 2:30 daily. I heartily recommend that it's worth the drive from Austin and should be added to any Central Texas BBQ mecca trip.
