teriyaki tri tip

I was looking to experiment with a tri tip and figured teriyaki might be an interesting twist. I marinaded the tri tip in the teriyaki sauce and then basted it with it during grilling.

Along with the tri tip, I grilled some baby bok choi, king oyster mushrooms, and shish*to peppers. Sweet potato fritter in the back of the plate.

I picked up the shish*to peppers at Mitsuwa Marketplace in NJ and also found myoga ginger. It looked cool so I picked up a little pack to play with

It seemed right to pickle it and it turned out great. It sounds like myoga can be cultivated in my growing zone so I'm eager to find a plant to grow

I almost forgot the pickled myoga, but my daughter was keen to try it so I broke it out for another shot

Looks terrific jeff!

light wasn't in my favor. I had a service guy working on our cooktop until 5:30 or so. By the time we got dinner going it was dark out.

they now make cameras with flashcubes built-in ;)

Great looking plate and yet more new ingredients for the shopping trip. Although I've never seen either the peppers or this ginger at any of my local markets.

Nicely done Jeff. The tri looks fantastic. Love the shishiito peppers. Scorched like that, they have a wonderful flavor with a little dash of soy.
