Howdy folks...

Times come to finally get a good set of knifes, and here´s what caught my eye :

720.jpg

3.25-in. Paring Knife
6-in. Boning Knife
8-in. Bread Knife
10-in. Chef's Knife
10-in. Slicing Knife
10-in. Sharpening Steel
Knife Roll

Seven piece set of Forschner knifes + roll , and i think i need the granton edge slicer, too.

So, if theres anything i need to know about, feel free to teach me...Pro´s, con´s, dos and donts...

I´m still open for other brands or whatever.

Hi again, Don Marco - I neglected to tell you one thing over on the Forum. The Forschners are Cooks Illustrated's favorites, performing very well up against the big name German knives, but they also like the Fibrox handles. That's a great looking set, anyway, though - I REALLY like that bag.

That is a great set. I'd avoid the granton edge, in my opinion they don't work.

If you don't have one, you might want a carving fork too. I like a straight one. I don't like my fingers near the action when I'm slicing. The Granton slicer is great. I don't really like the Forschner steel - it's too coarse in my opinion. That set looks like it has just about everything you'd need.
