Support local retail/service business

As the owner of two small businesses, I call on this community to please support local retail / service businesses that you value. It has been said most restaurants have 2 weeks cash on hand. How can they survive 2 MONTHS ? My customer base has been loyal and we will thrive going forward. Many people have their life's savings in their business-not to mention how many jobs they contribute to the community.

So please think before you buy. Thanks !

Steve:
I definitely hear you on this topic. As usual, the little guy gets trampled by the big guys for the financial support. We have 3 local mom & pop restaurants we support every week. They are very appreciative and while we have discount coupons for one of them, we are not using them. We want them to be around when things ease up! I got a haircut for the first time today since early February when things got shut down.

Yah..... there are 2 restaurants and a brewery that we patronize frequently & regularly. We very much like them, and they've shown how much they appreciate local support. All of my charcoal comes from one of the local hardware outlets (I throw as much as I can their way.) Likewise, we're not using any discounts we may be offered.

<scratches head> I'm not sure I've left the yard since last week. Only set foot out of the house a few times.

Our younger daughter works at a local, independent restaurant so we were already hooked into being supportive, but we've been trying to do a little bit more with more frequent orders, larger tips, etc.

One thing to keep in mind is that while it's a great gesture, being extra generous when it comes to tipping might not necessarily benefit the restaurant itself, since tips could very well be getting divvied up between the waitstaff and the kitchen. Please consider ordering a little extra food for a later, at-home meal, too.
