Superbowl / Daytona 500 cooks


 
That bourbon bowl sounds fun.
I no longer drink but I used to love bourbon tasting.

I think the casino down the road is having a party.
Those guys throw a good party.

We don’t have cable tv so I’m gonna have to find where to steam events like these.

We're doing the basics: Wings, a dip or two, nachos, etc. Dinner will be Italian beef sandwiches.
Was that for last night?

I had no one over for superbowl...but I did make beef dino ribs and snapped a few pics.
4.7 pounds on 4 bones before a slight trim...they were good, came out a bit salty but good for sure.
I have about a dozen pics or so from my last few cooks I got to get out in a post.

I am cooking this weekend for the 500.....it started many many years back attending the same 500 party ( 15+ years every year )....once that became old news I started my own up to keep it going......on the high side the Monday following the 500 is a stat holiday from work sooooooooooo......basically it allows me to have more fun perhaps than superbowl Sunday......Whiskey tastes really good on Sunday's for some reason......so do beers......it's wierd......
 
Well, I posted the SB fiasco in Chris’s “Anyone watching…” thread so, I won’t double post. Suffice to say, my cook didn’t go as hoped. (Hangs head in shame!)

The ribs must've been excellent.
