Super Bowl/Day Off/Sunday Dinner

Hi!

I had the day off. Nuff said, right? Plus, it's Super Bowl Sunday. I'm really not a football fan per se, but I usually catch the Super Bowl if I can. I did some baby backs and chicken wings on the grill I got for Christmas, a Char-Broil Kettleman.

The ribs were seasoned with Tony's, Szeged Rib Seasoning, and light brown sugar on top. The Kettleman was set up in the snake with pecan chips, and I let the ribs smoke for 2 hours.

The grill holds temps very well:

After two hours, I wrapped with some butter, removed the grate and raked the leftover charcoal in a pile. I lit them all (about 30 coals), spread them out, and put the ribs back on wrapped at 350 degrees until my probe went right through. It was maybe an hour.

Seared, sauced with Heinz Memphis Sweet and Spicy, and allowed to set. I like this grill, but the grate is hard to clean so I sauce on top of foil for easier cleaning.

Left over charcoal after 3 hours:

I lit 30 or so more coals and put on the chicken. I seasoned it with salt, garlic powder, and white pepper. I wasn't sold on this grill for chicken so far, but it did well this time. You have to remember to oil the chicken well and flip before it sticks too much.

Thanks.

Looks good...I brewed an Oktoberfest beer today only to find out I didn't have any lager yeast. It'll be an Oktoberfest Ale soon enough.

Nice cook man. Love the smoke ring on those ribs and the wings look juicy and flavorful.

Regards,

John
