Sunday Night Tri Tip

Well, its been a hectic couple of weeks so I planned to just have leftovers and relax for the evening. I went to grab a few things at the store and saw this last choice tri tip begging to go home with me... Since it was on sale for $6, I obliged. So, as the kids went to bed, I prepared this for my wife and I. Decided to make a sandwich out of it this time. We make Tri Tip 3-5 times a month so gotta get creative.

Sea salt, pepper, garlic powder, and a bit of seasoning salt. Let it sit for a couple hours to room temp. Reverse sear; about 20 min per side at around 250-300 degrees, then a quick direct sear.

Seasoned and resting for the cook

My wife's sandwich. We toasted the bread with some butter and garlic salt on the grill. Her sandwich was wimpy in my opinion since it didnt have any red onions or lettuce. I didn't get a photo of mine because I ate it right away!

Thanks for looking.

Thanks guys. Heres todays lunch, and how I prefer my sandwiches. Lots of red onion, S&P, mayo & mustard, and some lettuce. One of my favorite reasons to make tri tip is for the next day sandwich too. Belonging to this forum has very much improved my tri tip with the reverse sear, so THANKS!
