Sunday chicken and soup.

A little while back I cooked a herb chicken on the roti and it was a hit with the wife so I decided to do it again. To go with the chicken I also made a pot of butternut squash soup.

Chickens were coated with a mix of parsley, rosemary, thyme, garlic, lemon zest and salt and pepper.

It was a spring like day in SLC and temps made it all the way up to 61. I fired up the OTG with some KBB and pecan wood.

While the chicken cooked I made the soup and smoked some cheese.

Chicken cooked untill it reached 165.

Soup and chicken turned out great. It was my first time using pecan wood and I liked the flavor.

Great looking chicken and what a nice vibrant orange on that soup. Roast chicken is one of my favorites. Nice work , brother.
