Strip Steaks...and Bread...and Salad

NY Strips from the best beef source in Richmond, brushed with olive oil and seasoned with fleur de sel and pepper.

On 5 minutes total. 3 minutes one side (rotating at the 1:30 mark), then flipped and grilled for 2 more minutes (rotating at the 1:00 mark).

Off and resting while the bread "cooked".

A small French bread loaf cut up and brushed with some garlic, rosemary oil.

On for a kind of reverse sear, baked until crunchy and then on direct to char a little.

Plated with a store bought herb salad fancied up with some blue cheese and walnuts and dressed with an orange vinaigrette.

Fantastic plate and nice job on the G bread! I have never been able to perfect the garlic bread technique.
 
Great meal Don! Looks super! I love the steak salad! We did the very same thing tonight with our leftovers!
 
Folks- Don has turned me on to some of the places in town that sell some of the harder to find cuts of meat.. tri-tip, bellies, etc and Tom Leonard's is one of them.

Great looking plate. I owe you a cold one sometime soon.
