Strange food pairings.

Most I never heard of besides scrambled eggs and ketchup, apple pie and cheddar and that banana mayo sandwhich.
I will sprinkle a bit of Tajin on watermelon and black pepper on cantaloupe.

I like a little salt on melons of all sorts.

A sweet stout or porter (very malty and very low hops) with a scoop of good vanilla ice cream can make a wonderful float.

One of my Mexican friends turned me on to putting Chile powder on Mango slices. Sounds weird tastes quite nice actually. And then there is Prosciutto and melon one of my all time favs. And as a kid the ONLY place I would ever use Ketsup was on scrambled eggs. IDK why. Could never bring myself to put it on a dog or fries. But then I'm Windy City born and raised. I knew from the time I could speak those were no no's

Yukko! Never Ketsup. Who wants all that sugar on a proper dog. Although I guess I should not say too much because I love my iridescent green relish and my sport peppers on mine

Only in Chicago is the "mother in law"
A Tom Tom tamale on a bun smothered in chili.
Anthony Bourdain did a episode on that at fat Johnny's.
Have loved them since I was a little kid. Mom would let us ride our bikes down to a little stand on Diversey and Laramie. She's give me like $00.75 and I would ride home with a basket full of Chicago Dogs, Tom Tom's all wrapped in greasy fries and it was lunch made in Heaven

It was a guilty pleasure and any hot dog cart had them steamed along with the dogs.
The factorie was in my old neighborhood.
Totally different from the corn husk wrapped tamales.
Supreme was another similar brand, I think Portillos uses them.
