Long time since last post..
Here's a couple of pictures of my outdoor kitchen project. I'll be making my own countertop in concrete.
More pictures to follow as the project goes along :)

That will be a fine work zone! I’ve wanted to do something like that for years but, when I had time, I didn’t have the money now that I have the time, I don’t have the desire! I’ve made my “kitchen” about as comfortable as possible. There are a few tweaks I’d like to do but, I don’t have to do anything to put out a feast but, add heat! More counterspace would always be nice but, I’m not seeing how I can shoehorn that in without some serious spousal consent and some involved design work.
Do post the concrete counter pictures

Only thing that I see that causes concern is the space behind your gasser and the privacy wall.
You took the wheels off so you can't roll it out.

I will post more as the project comes along. Waiting on the weather to start mixing concrete 😊

The amount of wood and foliage in close proximity to this setup makes me incredibly nervous.
I see your point, but I will be putting in fiber cement plates around both of the grills. Fiber cement plates general carries a Class 1(A) fire/flame spread rating.
I will have almost 4 inches (10 cm) distance from the back wall to the Genesis, and roughly the same for the kettle. And I will have a fire extinguisher on site. Hopefully that will never be used.

Timothy, I'm replying the same to you as I did John Burns,

All the heat comes out of the back on a gasser. 2 feet is the norm.
If you install the non/com on the back wall you should mount it to metal furring so you create an air space between the two surfaces.
we use these hat channels

@TomA-Norway looks like a great grilling splace.

I would keep the casters on the Genesis as you never know when you might want to remove it for maintenance or repairs and being able to roll it out would be a lot easier than sliding it out across the wood. Just a thought.

Please post a link to the material you are using ? I'm interested to see if these are available in the US.

Thanks for the tip Timothy, I will see what I can figure out, but there's outdoor kitchen groups (Swedish) on FB that I have been looking on for inspiration, for a couple of years. Almost all of them I've seen, that's similar to the one I'm building, has the same amount of spacing as mine. I'm also looking for a backplate on the back wall to avoid heating issues. I'll post pictures as I go along.

Yes I've seen too many fires with gassers too close to a wall. Like I mentioned if you left the wheels on you could still roll it out a few ft.
Thats what I do with my Q2200. I have it on a SS table which I modded with casters.

Dan, the ones I'm using is made in Norway, I've tried to see if there's any English documents but can't find any. It'll be a lot of translation... They're made of magnesiumoxide,

I'll be covering the front of the grill also, the wheels are not coming back on. It must be lifted out.. Pictures will follow

I’d be nervous having the area under the kettle completely enclosed - there have been a few times when my ash catcher released a little too easily due to operator error

See this thread on the Weber Sequoia for ideas… but keep in mind it is “discontinued “

Hi, it will be open under the kettle. But closed when not in use. Pictures will follow 😊
