Stars & Stripes Kettle

1956 Black and Red Custom Kettle, 1958 Black and Yellow Custom Kettle, 1966 New Old Stock Westerner, and a late 1960's 18.5"Galley Que lurking in the background with Charcoal Caddy.

Amazing collection of unicorns in pristine shape. You have a knack for finding the rare. Is that a long lost Leonardo da Vinci painting in the background? LOL

I picked up mine a few days ago, and made a few tweaks.
I added different wheels, different ash pan, and a Weber side table
that I had lying around.

Mine will never be cooked on. It will spend most of it's
life displayed in my office. During holidays and other special
occasions, I will wheel it out on the deck and use is as a drink
table. It will replace the red kettle I had been using for the last
several years. I had a piece of maple and glass cut for the table top.

I did similar... mine is in my office as a table/decor.

I am using used bourbon barrel heads in both this Stars and Stripes and my Stealth Kettles.

I have them as the "gateway" to the little cove in the back of my office that I will use as my Lego building station. lol.

My contribution to the patriotic kettle theme. It is a 1959 "Sky Blue" Weber Kettle. The legs were coated white at the factory and the original red wheels are in great shape. Don't know much about the color other than only two have been seen to date (probably a limited edition run).RedWhieBlue.jpg

Paint some white on it and you have Air Force1!

There is 3 Walmarts with in 15 miles of me and I have never seen on, plus they do not even carry a Weber charcoal grill anymore

If you could buy just one bottle, which do you enjoy most for a regular drink?

I'm a Buffalo Trace guy still as I'm still new to this whole bourbon thing. But, for me it's Weller Special Reserve. If I lived in a state where I could actually just go to the liquor store and get it, that would be my everyday pour

Other than that I would go with

Buffalo Trace ($30)
Eagle Rare ($40-$50)
Elmer T Lee ($100+)

But that all would depend on budget and how easily you can get any of them at a decent price where you live. They are flooding the Georgia market with Eagle Rare to test it as a shelfer instead of allocated. If I lived in Georgia still I'd drink Eagle Rare everyday all the time, without a doubt. Absolutely love Eagle Rare.

If you are looking more budget friendly I'd stick with the Benchmark line, and go with the proof point you like. All are around $20 and are essentially younger blends of Buffalo Trace.

Another amazing cheap everyday pour is Early Times Bottled in Bond. Not the regular Early Times, only the blue label Bottled in Bond. It is an absolute banger and I could drink it everyday. Runs between $15-$20ish range.

Another very cheap bottle that is great is Ancient Age. It's the same mash bill as Blanton's and Elmer T Lee but just way younger, but it's a good pour for a $15 bottle that's in the same flavor profile range.

A lot of words to answer your question lol. But, if the GA in your name means you are in Georgia and you just wanted an elite pour at a reasonable price that is regularly available where you live, my answer would be Eagle Rare. If I was told it's the only bourbon I could drink the rest of my life, I would die a happy man.

Thanks. Couple more barrel heads I have. They just have to be Weber-less. Lol

WHOA!!! That's a nice collection you have there.
I see a bottle of Holladay hiding in the back on the lower shelf.
That distillery is only about 45 minutes from me. We took a tour
there 9 years ago, when they first started making bourbon again
and were only selling white dog. We then made a return trip last
month and I picked up a single barrel bottle of the red wheat.
If you are ever in the KC area I would highly recommend the tour.20250616_184919.jpg20250616_184849.jpg

I am definitely a wheater guy and the Holladay bottles are straight up bangers. I drink the Soft Red Wheat. In fact just got a backup bottle yesterday for Father's Day (among some others) so I can enjoy the first bottle more now. Lol

I'm jealous you have a single barrel soft red wheat. None of those here in Florida.

I have to agree with about all of that.
If you happen to live near Trader Joe's their house brand
Trader Joe's Kentucky bourbon is Buffalo Trace as well.
Pretty good stuff for $15 here in Mo.
It's very difficult to find any allocated stuff in this area.

As Brock mentioned, they are available on the Walmart website.
Hey John, I have had several people questioning how distributor specials get made. I thought I would check with you.
What I explained to them so far is that a distributor will approach a company with the idea of an exclusive model or feature at a specific price point, the company works up a feasible model that can be produced, presents it to the distributor for approval, and then produces the run.
I understand Weber may operate their system a little differently and I kept my explanation very general. Perhaps you can shed more light on the process.

Great info! Yes, I'm in the Atlanta area. I'm going to keep my eyes open for the ones you mentioned.
