Stanbroil stainless grates on sale


 
So I decided to count my cast iron...38 pieces. What is it called when you have weberitis, but for cast iron pans? Been a few years since I was actively "collecting" cast iron
 
Well I figured it's time for an update on these grates. Honestly, I don't notice any uneven heating in the least. It is cooler in the center by 75-100°, but I actually like that a bit as it gives me a slightly cooler area for circulating things as smaller pieces cook quicker, or for small things like hot dogs for the kids. I can actually get the grill hotter faster, and I've cooked steak, burgers, dogs, chicken on these grates. I can honestly say they seem to perform at least as well and in some instances better than the originals. Cleanup certainly is easier, and I'm a huge cast iron fan that doesn't mind the maintenance. Overall I would recommend then if you have an aversion to the cast iron or are simply looking for something differentPXL_20240730_204912557.jpg

I figured I had enough cook time to be objective on it, and know that the quality was at least there. This grill lives outside, usually uncovered, and is used at least once a week, even in the winter in NH. Love using it in the winter, heats up fast enough to not empty the tank just bringing it up to temp, not sure the same could be said for the summit 650!
 
If anyone is interested I think I am ready to part with this 1/2 Stainless grate for a 3xxx grill. I only had this 1/2 as it was the last one Amazon had a few years back. $15 + shipping. It weighs in at almost 6.5lbs and is an nice chunk of stainless. But I haven't had a 3XXX in a while so... I used it maybe 2 or 3 times and still have the original box.
