Stainless Steel Grate Throwdown Challenge Results

ANOTHER NEW CONTENDER:

Enter Dictirdy. Yah, it's a pretty wacky name, but the product is exceptional. Recently showing up on Amazon at 50% off, this has to be the most unbelievable price ($39.59) for an almost perfect set of super heavy, 304 stainless, 9mm grates. They check just about every box. About the only minor negative is that if you are a Chargon user (like me) you have to navigate around a center support. This is identical to the equally nice 9mm grates from Qlimetal, but one place where grates from Dave Santana or an old Summit are perhaps nicer in that they don't have that center support.

I have added a new review sheet for this entry form Dictirdy. Keep in mind that how old some of the reviews are that you will find on the early pages of this long-running thread. Prices and availability have changed quite a bit since some of my reviews from years ago, but a number of sets previously reviewed can still be purchased. I hope this will help people evaluating a possible stainless rod grate purchase.

Thanks for the review Jon!

My g/f rarely objects to kitchen or grilling purchases. Biggest issue would probably where do I store it? Yes, I want a chamber sealer........ But otherwise, she's generally okay to pretty happy. It gets her scratch fettucine Alfredo.

Jon, that's a really comprehensive report! Thank you!

I am receiving tomorrow a set of 9mm grates by "Dictirdy" sold by "East STORE" that I purchased on Amazon. They were on sale for $39.59. I think Bruce reported the deal on the other thread. My guess is that several of the low cost Amazon/China sellers come from only one or two manufacturers in China.

I did put a set of Quilimetal 16 gauge flavor bars in two of the Silver B's I fixed this summer. They were heavy, fit well and were a great price. I sort of wonder if they heat up hotter than other thinner flavor bars because of their extra mass. In any event, they are a great value as Bruce and you mentioned above.
