SS Grate Cleaning Issue

I've got a SS grate that came with the Weber smoker attachment. I use this when smoking ribs. Getting the sugar based glaze (apple juice&vinegar) and rub off the SS has been next to impossible. I've used Simple Green BBQ Cleaner a few times on it along with wire brushes, scrub pads, etc. Can't get the brown, black glaze off of the grate. I'm tempted to throw the grate in our over the next time we run the self-cleaning cycle to see if that gets rid of it. Any thoughts?

Easy Off works fine but really once used they never become shiny again. They're not like frying pans. You could try your dishwasher too

The black scrubber things that Weber makes for the purpose actually work pretty well. They're more aggresive than a typical scrubber sponge. Typically I burn the grates off for ~15min at as high temp as I can beforehand, let them cool down then scrub them off. Seems to work decent for me
