Spirit E-310 2024 versus 2025

I am considering getting a small gas grill to use on weeknights where I don't want to fart around with charcoal. I was looking at the 2 burner spirit grills and there are some things I don't like about the newly released 2025 grills.

Old: https://www.amazon.com/Weber-46110001-Spirit-Liquid-Propane/dp/B0098HR0PY/?tag=tvwb-20 This one going for $450.

New: https://www.amazon.com/Weber-SPIRIT-2-Burner-Liquid-Propane/dp/B0DPH7QGTP?tag=tvwb-20 $399, but no folding shelves and painted side shelves.
Am I better off getting the older model? anyone seen both of these? any advice?

the other unit I would consider is this one that my brother has and makes good food: https://www.menards.com/main/outdoo...l/463655421/p-60298252805-c-1460387142867.htm

I see you're from WI. I see used 2 burner spirits and Silver A's all over for cheap or free. I would highly recommend a Silver A. Great little cookers, parts are reasonable on Amazon and still has the classic Weber look!

That $200 Char Broil will probably do the job fine, but would not last nearly as long as a Silver A - in my opnion.

I think the fold down tables is one of the best options on these newer two-burner grills and the fact that the model you have posted and the next one up don't have folding table capability is a miss in my opinion. These grills are small for a reason and space-saving. Why not have fold down tables on the smallest cheapest models. Is it that much of a cost maybe. As far as the older model you have posted it's probably the same quality which to be honest isn't the highest quality. These are pretty thin and cheap and not meant to last. Of course if you take care of it you can get some years out of it and that's probably all the most people hope for these days.
This is an older model and the one that I would prefer personally out of the bunch of newer options. Not that the construction is necessarily any better but the look in the feel with the black and stainless and stainless steel handle instead of plastic handle like on the other older model. Also has fold down tables on both sides which the newer option does not. If this is important to you also.

I pick these up for free or cheap and restore them for very little money but if you're not into that buying one might be a good option.

I do agree with @Cody Bratton though if you're looking for something that's going to last an old classic two burner refurbished would be the ticket. I understand this isn't for everybody for multiple reasons. Either doing the work yourself is not a feasible option or there is none available in your area or you just don't like old things and want something new and shiny out of the box.

I also am a big fan of two burner grills. These are my two favorites that I own.

I do like what Josh posted, but the the black folding side table spirit he posted, all seem to turn to rot boxes around here.
I'm sure any of those newer options will rot out soon. They aren't built to last but if you were to take it apart and properly rust proof the panels you would definitely have a good chance. More work than most people are willing to put in though. To be fair though none of the newer stuff is built the last.

You won't be disappointed with the '24 (really the 2012-2016 design that was reintroduced) --- its still a pretty solid grill as long as you can keep the inside of the cabinet from rotting. I've been running one for ~8 years now as pretty much my daily without much trouble. The folding tables are what makes me keep it around --- folded it takes up hardly any space.

If you do get one --- maybe consider a good yearly cleaning followed by a good coat of spray wax to keep the rust at bay...... something I 'should' be doing, but don't actually do. Just keeping it clean and not letting dirt/debris collect has been working well for me. I'm actually surprised its lasted this long with minimal care myself.

I should add that I have not been impressed with the newer offerings for some time now.....

I had the same dilemma a few weeks ago. I bought an E-210 in 2014 and loved that grill. Sold it in 2020 for patio construction to my neighbor and he is still using it. I looked closely at the 2025 E-210 at Ace and realized why it was cheaper. Because it IS cheaper. Not near as well built as the older model. I bought a new 'old' version with the fold down shelves and had a blast assembling it. Well, that's my two cents worth.

Depending on exactly what you're looking for you might also consider looking into a Weber Q2800N+. Also a two burner and even though I've had several Weber Q grills recently this one looks to be Very Nice in comparison to the older models
Josh,
I agree with that very much. I think a person who just needs a more modest size grill and is only looking to do regular grilling (as opposed to low and slow bbq) would be way better off with the new Q2800N than any of the smaller Spirit grills. Cast aluminum and glass infused plastic leave little to rust out. Get a stainless table to put it on, and you have a very capable, long-lasting grill that can cook with the best. And, with some finagling you can even do some low and slow on one of those as well!

Can I interest you in a Weber Q320? I see no reason to keep it. I have a good SS grate set and a good CI grate set for it. Since getting that Ninja I see no reason to even use the Q anymore

Larry's "big" Q3200 would offer even MORE cooking space than a Spirit and also has the dual burner capability of the new Q2800. Stainless grates, too!

Does that have a cart or just the unit?
Both. Cart and unit. Likely needs a decent cleaning since after getting the deck sanded and stained and acquiring the Ninja it's simply been sitting. All I need to do for it is place the LP orifices and regulator back and it's ready to go. Unless someone wants it in NG, then it's all set for that

Todd, another good thing about the Q3200 Larry has is that the cart is almost entirely glass-infused plastic, so virtually no problem with rust. I love the new Q2800, but I do not like the painted steel carts Weber is offering to go with it.

OK, you can call me an enabler :p, but I promise I am not on commission!

Don't worry Jon, your "cut" will be in the mail.

Todd, I can echo Jon's comments as I recently refurbed a Q320 and sold to a neighbor who loves it! You'd be hard pressed to do better, plus it has ss grates on it and ready to go. Much better grill than a 210-I started off this hobby with one before getting my A. Loved the fold down tables, but the cabinet was suspect after just a couple of years, no problem with the Q cart.

Purchased Larry's 320. Nice to meet a fellow TVWBB follower in person. Now I need to give it a thorough cleaning and get using it!
