Spirit E-210 LP (2009) restoration

Someone threw out a nearly identical 2009 E-210 at the town dump today. I looked at it for a while and debated whether or not to bring it home (I initially left without it, but changed my mind and went back for it).

It was missing the igniter assembly and the flavorizer bars turned into dust long ago, but it came with cast iron grates that were in really good condition. They are compatible with my Genesis Silver A grates.

To deal with the missing igniter, I used a old-fashioned spare igniter assembly from a 2000s Genesis. The red button doesn't look that out of place, and I liked how it was a drop-in replacement.

I never gave these Spirit grills a second look prior to today, but I will say that they are better than I thought they would be.

For the flavorizer bars, I ordered some stainless ones from eBay (seller sunnyonline_1) for $26 shipped.

I'll see if my coworker wants this grill, if not, I have someone else in mind for it too.

Nice rescue. Report back on the Ebay Flavo bars. I had heard they are thin and will warp on high heat.

Got one of those myself that I picked up for free. Going to give to my son once I get it restored, seems to be a nice little grill.
