Hi Everyone,
I haven't been on for a while But I've been keeping up regularly.
I've got three slabs of spares on the old WSM today. The weather was so nice I had to cook. I'm reading 78* right now. Funny it was 19* two days ago.
My kingsford is performing flawlessly. easy to light and smooth burning.
I'd like to try some lump charcoal but I haven't fond any place around here that has it. Maybe I'll go over to Texas sometime and pick up a load.
Later,

Billy,
If you got a Walmart near you check out their Lump Charcoal. I found it to be a very good product! Let us know how the spares came out and what you did! Did you use St. Louis cut?
Regards,

As far as I know none of the Wal-Marts in this area carry lump. We have at least four Super Centers within a forty mile radius.
The ribs were full spares. I picked up a three pack at Sam's Club.
By the way they turned out great. A little BRITU, a couple of Hickory chunks, and about six hours worth of smoking.
Thank goodness for WSM. It makes low and slow so easy.

I like my ribs dry with a little sauce on the side for dipping. My son makes a vinegar based sauce with a bit of zip to it. Goes mighty fine with tender ribs.
