Sonos

When we purchased our current house, about 8 years ago, I bought several Sonos speakers to begin to set up an in-house sound system. Through the years, I have added a few units, but recently bought the "Roam" portable speaker to add to the current system for outside use. While I had moved some speakers outside when needed, it was a bit cumbersome, and required a slight time delay for the speaker to connect to the system when first re-plugging in outside. We had a basic off-brand Bluetooth speaker for outside use, but wanted something that would be synched to the inside music. Enter the Roam.

I'll let you look up the specs for yourself, but it's a basic portable speaker, but one that can connect to the entire Sonos system. It is dust and water resistant and has cordless charging too. Often when I'm grilling, I like to have music going outside, but want it playing in the kitchen also. This allows me to have it tied to the kitchen speaker, playing the same music in continuity as I'm going in and out of the house. It will also make a nice portable unit for going anywhere around the house where I don't already have a Sonos speaker, and will also work on Bluetooth for portability outside of the house (though I doubt that will get much use).
This will also come in handy on firepit nights too, and for parties where I want an additional speaker to our current system. So far I'm liking it, just wanted to put out a quick and basic run down on it for anyone else that might be looking for something similar.
Hope this helps.

I have a factory refurbished BOSE that I’m seriously impressed with. Started with a “Creative“ D-200 which is the hard wired Bluetooth unit and then got a deal on the battery powered D-100 both are excellent but the BOSE is superior!

I used a Bose Soundlink for several years, but with a Sonos speaker in one room, a HomePod and a sound system hooked to an AppleTV, the Bose was lacking that 'linkability' that the others shared. I picked up a Roam when they first came out and it has proved to be a nice little unit. All the speakers now work together and the Roam goes wherever I need it. The Bose did sound a little better, but I'm happy to have given up a tiny bit of sound quality for the other benefits.
