Some Goodies And Some Brisket

Pammi and I went to the Southern Spring Show yesterday. They have landscapers and contractors and all sorts of people trying to sell you stuff for spring! We normally look at everything and buy very little, but there were a couple things that caught our attention. A couple years ago,I bought a US Army grill spatula. And there are always several "outdoor" kitchens set up,with everything from grills and smokers to gadgets. This year, there was an outfit called 3Beers rub and sauce company. The sauce was okay, but the rub was very nice, not too spicy like a lot of commercial rubs. So I bought a bottle!

There are always a bunch of artisans there, selling all sorts of stuff. Pammi saw this little dude and had to buy it for me!

As you can never have too many brewski openers,I "let" her! It's been clear coated and is mounted proudly in front of my OTS and the WSM!
But,like the title says says, there is a brisket involved. We went to our new favorite meat store,Earth Fare, and they just happened to have a beautiful chunk of brisket flat in the front of the case! "Sold!",I told the butcher and home it went!
I took it out today, seasoned it and the bacon liberally with the new 3Beers rub. 5 hours at 225* and it looked like this.

Unfortunately, the plated shot didn't upload. But it was served with some Israeli couscous and green beans. Very nice! AND,I have a couple briskey sammiches for lunch tomorrow! YES!

Great looking brisket. You're right, can't have too many openers. I have 4 or 5 and I never can find one when I need it. That's why we have teeth.
