Solution of Wobbly Legs on the 26

That's frikin awesome. At first glance I thought the legs would get in the way of the lid for the lid bale, but it doesn't look so.
I still like yours Gary, one of a kind.

Thanks Tim. I'm glad to see there are other options. It's nice to see, the issues with the 26 are so widely recognized. It could be so much more than it is if Weber would just invest in this kettle.

That's a great idea, and I think it would be easy to attach some side tables to the legs, I'm going to have to look into doing this.

It's unlikely that Weber would do this and keep the price where it currently is. It's business model seems to be focused more towards cost savings and offering scaled back or reduced features/variations of the same product within existing price points. However I do think this could be a huge hit at $379. Maybe $429 if they take it "all the way" and make a full-fledged 26.75 Performer out of it.

Awesome. Personally that mod in itself would make the OTG far more appealing for me if considering a Performer. Well done to the MODer.

That's some nice work but I think I'd prefer a tripod design for stability reasons. A 26" isn't that heavy and judging by the tubing that was used 3 legs would still get the job done and then some.

I agree Brad. I think it was more the ease of ordering the kit, something pre-existing. As Steve Porter points out it does offer the opportunity for side shelves. It does need a front lid handle though.

I am absolutely looking into doing this mod! I have craycorts on mine and it is all kinds of twisty and untsable. I love the grill, but those darn little chicken legs...

I wish I could figure out a way to manufacture a kit for the 26, probably could but the shipping would take the price right out of reach.

I have a cast iron charcoal grate, 16 gauge SS rotisserie ring, HD rotisserie motor and I use cast iron pans or serving dishes. That's the beauty of the 26 but those chicken legs are just not strong enough to support these grilling tools. Very frustrating for the stock owner.

Gary your freind has serious talent very nice job and very expandable. Next best 26 I have seen next to yours.
Nice.

Thought I'd revive this thread. I just ordered the parts for this mod on my 26.75! This will make a fun winter project for me. I'm going to try to add side tables to mine. Only thing I couldn't get right off the bat is the front castor wheels, according to the website I ordered from they are obsolete and no longer available! But once the parts arrive I will start looking elsewhere for front wheels that will fit into the legs, or maybe just extend the legs and have stationary pegs for the front. I'll use the current stock wheels for the back of course. I already used Gary's idea for an extra handle on the front of the lid. I think the 26.75 has great potential and I'll slowly bring mine up to speed.

Hey Steve, jut saw your post. Front castors should not be a problem to obtain. Good luck with your mods. You'll not regret it.:)
