SOLD: BESWOOD 10" Premium Chromium-plated Steel Blade Electric Deli Meat Cheese Food Slicer

I think you mean mandoline. Mandolin is an eight stringed Italian parlor instrument whose name means “never in tune”.
I know because I’ve been trying to tune mine for fifty years! A mandoline can cut your fingers off!
Ah. I see you are correct. My bad.

Got it home and did the setup and testing per the book (YES - I did read the book 😆) and all seems in order.

Thanks Chris!

Ok.

Finished trying it out.

Awesome!

Gave it the bread slice test. Very even slices with zero shredding or tearing.

Looking forward to jerky and deli meats.

I like that the book has a way to clean the blade without taking it off!

That works for lean stuff like deli meats, but fatty cuts like back or side bacon or when I do old timers bacon leaves a trail of grease between the blade and blade guard. I attribute it to friction caused by heat which gums up the works. You can try the book method but IMO the only way to get it is to remove the blade.
Edit: Could you copy and print what your book says?
Maybe they updated what my book says?

I hear you.
I figure that when I cut jerky meat, it’ll be a full cleaning.

Here is the cleaning instructions.

I used a cloth dampened with soapy dishwater (dawn) then a dry one to finish.
I used a cut glove to rotate the blade to get to the back.
Had a chat w Chris on how he cleans his and I thank him for that.

I do thank all for the feedback and advice. I am just trying to minimize actually pulling the blade out due to the hazards that action presents.

But once the blade is out, it could multitask!
